WALKS & MOORS
This area of Devon is so fortunate for its dramatic scenery. You can walk along the South West Path, in total 630 miles from Minehead to Poole. For something more gentle, there's the Tarka Trail from Braunton to Meeth, 32 miles in total. Or for sighting deer and wild ponies try Exmoor National Park.
For days out with the children, there's The Big Sheep (not only sheep!), Exmoor Zoo (see the Exmoor Beast), falconry, bowling, trampolining, go-karting, The Gnome Reserve, Quince Honey Farm, river cruises with local knowledge, fruit picking, sand dune rolling, and bike riding.
ARTS & CULTURE
Sculpture gardens, theatres, stream railways, historic properties, horticultural gardens, art galleries, maritime history, museums, open air theatre, exhibitions, and workshops.
PUBS & FOOD
Appledore has five pubs in the village, all within walking distance and dogs are welcome at all of them. There are two fish & chip shops, a pizzeria, a tea room, a coffee cabin, and a chocolate shop. Or if you want to cook at home, have a look at what's available in the mini market and delicatessen.
With so many great things to do, you won't want your holiday to end!
